The highway through Rogers Pass is closed.
This means we're turning south, along the Columbia River on highway 23.
The sad news is that our presentation in Golden will be cancelled as a result of ths course change.
While the southern route to highway 3 and Crows Nest pass is longer, it will hopefully avoid the mudslides and dangerous steep roads along the TransCanada highway.
We're entering unknown territory for the Econauts and the rate of our progress is uncertain. We hope to average 70 km per day.
We've laid out our route in a previous comment section (about a week ago). Doc knows where we're going, but I don't have the map in front of me at the moment.
Our digital signal will fade quite soon and not sure when we can send or receive messages again. Mission Control will be our link to the world if our cellphone works amid the high mountain range.
This is Eco1 Over and Out.

Hey Guys
Wow, I'm sure thats a bit of a disappointment that you have to take the tour south(for both you and the kids) but as you said you will hopefully be avoiding some pretty treacherous roads.
Here are a couple of quotes I think are appropriate:
It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves. ~Edmund Hillary
Nobody trips over mountains. It is the small pebble that causes you to stumble. Pass all the pebbles in your path and you will find you have crossed the mountain. ~Author Unknown
There are lots of us rooting for you!
Conquerors of mountains and mockers of hills,
Bonne chance with the southern detour.
Go Econauts Go!
