Checkpoint: Cranbrook, BC

Mission Control...

Thbis is Eco1...

On the road again, Skipper.

We did 100+ km from Creston to Cranbrook today. The last hour into a driving rain. The rain has stopped now and I can even see the sun! Had Japanese noodles tonight for the run to Fernie,BC tomorrow and perhaps beyond.

Looking at the big Canada map this evening over the picnic table, I estimate we're about a week behind schedule. Maybe we can make up some time across the prairies. Dunno. We aren't out of the mountains yet, and I can't say I'll miss the climbs, but I will miss the people and the views. We're getting a lot of happy honks and waves from Albertans who love the Kootaneys.

We were stopped on the highway by a gentleman reporter feom the International Press who took some photos and interviewed us. Ho-hum...just another average day.

Happy long weekend, Canada!

Wow, 100kms, that seems like alot. We love reading your stories and seeing your pictures. Is the man who interviewed you going to write a story about your adventures? How will we know when to read it?We are glad the people have been nice to you.Why do you only have three wheels on the ecorocket?

That's a lot to think about, Travis and Friends...

Ah...100 km a day is actually disappointing to me. The mountain hills a really wearing our legs out still and we're falling behind our ambitious schedule. 100 km seemed a lot to me too once until I met this 75 year old cyclist on an Ontario bike trail who said he did 100 km every day - just before he left me in a cloud of dust.

The people have been great. Today was a bit of a downer though because some idiot in a car coming towards us gave us the finger. I only mention this because it's the only negative thing we've had so far which is amazing. I had no idea what the reaction would be to our bizarre adventure.

Three wheels? We liked that idea better than a two wheeled tandem (like the Streamliners that set the records) because it's a stable platform to ride on. All velomobiles. Are three -wheelers, as far as + know.

Thanks for the Qs!
