Timothy asks what I think about Ken Dryden's 'The Game'. It's a book written by one of the great hockey goalies about his time with the legendary Montreal Canadiens.
Timothy, I'm enjoying it so uch I never want the book to end. I'm on page 146 of 248 right now. I remember watching this Montreal generation play on TV (and once in Maple Leaf Gardens) when I was a kid. This team was so scary good that I couldn't decide whether to root for my Maple Leafs or Montreal. Guy Lafleur was like a living god to me. And Ken Dryden (and the Leafs' Mike Palmateer) made me decide to become a goalie when I played hockey. I'm just glad that I came across this book by accident. I'm in hog's heaven right now. Great Question!!!
Here's an awesome quote from the book...
"Hockey, like all professional sports, demands plowhorse resiliency and resolve, a days work done no matter what the circumstances...".
