Checkpoint: 110 km West of Moncton

Mission Control...

This is Eco1...

After another hot day, have set camp off highway #2. Hope to get an early start tomorrow as I'm unable to velo in the afternoons.

The section I'm passing through now is hilly and no services really between here and Moncton. This is what all the locals have been warning me against. Also, it seems I should get used to all these hills as there will be plenty from here on out.

Got a rear flat tire on the downside of a bridge this evening. My jack technique is to lay on my back, pull the rear end over top of me,holding it up with my legs as I remove the tire with my hands. Pretty funny to see I'm sure.

It's difficult these days for me to make blog comments so...

BLOG COMMENTS: Wow, thanks for the huge article, James. Look forward to reading it. Maybe that's why a lot of people where honking and waving at me today.... Wilshy, could you please e-mail me Sr.'s phone # and e-mail address? Thanks for keeping a copy of the TO article for me.

And...had to end a red squirrel's life this morning. It was hit by a car and badly maimed - wasn't going to live. So, I used a rock to end its suffering. Didn't want to kill the animal, but believe it was the right thing to do. I'll never forget it.

This is Eco1...Out.

Sorry to hear about the unfortunate squirrel. I have sent the contact info MD. Really hope you will be able to take in the sites of the Northumberland Strait. It's very beautiful there!
