This is Eco1...
We have set camp at the Velorution campground in the Sault. We're the kind guests of Andre, Kerry and Ian. Andre and Ian are away - on a one day 400 km bike tour! - and Kerry has been so kind to me with food and very good conversation. Kerry is a serious practitioner of Falun Gong meditation, exercise and teaching.
I cannot imagine a more pleasant Sunday afternoon than discussing Truthfulness, Compassion, and Tolerance with a most spiritual Kerry. She's also an avid outdoor adventurer who loves to share the secret wonders of the wilderness nearby with visitors.
Also met another cyclist crossing Canada, Michel Paris. A great guy from Quebec who camped with us behind the bike shop. He met up with the walking across Canada Micheal and popped the photo below.
Michel & MichaelTomorrow we plan to give a presentation to Riverview PS in town then press eastward along hwy 17.

You've sure met a lot of kind and giving folks on your journey. I kind of figured that regular Canucks are not all the negatives that we see and hear on the news. It restores my faith in humanity.

What a pleasure to have your beautiful craft ride into Sault Ste Marie. It was very inspiring to talk with Captain Dude (Bill), a man of great intelligence and moral integrity. It is nice to see people educating children about important issues while seeking no personal gain or self-interest. We hope you come back. Everyone here at Velorution will be watching your progress. You're so right, Derek. I have been truly amazed with the warm kindness and generosity we've found in the people we've met on our journey. Y'know, it's the people I've met that has made it worth all the misfortune along the way. And the kid's crazy questions - no the EcoRocket doesn't have laser beams - yet.
Gear changing in my head? Would I need a special space-age helmet for that?
