Status Report: Ferry to Newfoundland

Set to depart on the Atlantic ferry to Newfoundland at 1230 hours, August 3rd.

6 hour sailing time.

Good news! I thought I'd have to wait until Saturday to sail. Was only charged the bicycle rate (40).

Julie Colins, Reporter for the Sydney paper was kind enough to interview me in the vehicle line-up and take some photos.

Think I'll hang in the ship's lounge listening to live fiddle music all the way. I love it!

The whole crew laughed their guts out as I rode it aboard. I'm gonna enjoy The Rock.

MD, Enjoy this down time on the ferry to Newfoundland. Sounds like a great experience, listening to the live fiddle music and kicking back.
So close! I just discovered there is a traffic camera on the Trans Can Highway, Route #1, facing east next to the Foxtrap Weight Scales (about 20km from St. John's. Perhaps if you are on that route maybe we'll see you?

MD,
Who would have believed when you left Toronto that you'd be on the rock in early August? Your progress solo is simply amazing. We're thinking of you and rooting for you.

Whoooooo! Congratulations Bill the end is nigh. I spoke with Paul and unfortunately he doesn't know any trucker dudes who drive out that far east, is route is over to Sarnia and back. Sorry about that.....I'm sure you'll find someone to transport the velo back for you, I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Great time getting out to Newfoundland!!!

I am returning to Belleville on the 27th of August and back on the 30th. Not sure if this fits in with your plans. Drop me a line at home email. Maybe we can get a U-Haul trailer if velo is returning to Toronto.
