Final Approach: West of St. John's

Mission Control...

This is Eco1...

Have passed through Blackout Zone.

Have set camp off exit 40 for repairs and will attempt final push to the shore of St John's in the morning. Hope to reach Mile 0 St. John's approximately 1000 hours (Nfld).

Front sprocket and chain stretch makes hill climbs next to impossible. Must reset chain 20 times for each hill. Sproket wear pattern only allows power stroke from bad left leg. Also, right brake is out. Left brake at 30 percent.

Will try to reply to e-mails and comments as best I can. Sorry about the delay, Skipper.

Will do my best tomorrow.

This is Eco1...Over.

Fantastic, Major Dude! Tighten that helmet. Can't wait to see the photo of you touching the Atlantic.

Relieved you're back in contact. Awaiting your next transmission...

Skipper,

Aug. 15 645 hours (NFLD).

Cold, windy, overcast and froggy.

Breaking camp with some extra clothes on.

Appearently there isn't much of a beach ay Mile Zero, more of a dock. And thinking twice about the dip - wouldn't want to hit an iceberg....

Will advise on approach.

Eco1 Out.
