I'm close now and the tide has turned - everybody's a fan with no more doubters. Newfoundlanders have this, I don't know, head gesture when I zoom by. They'll look, smile, then give their head a half-shake to the side and back. Haven't seen it anywhere else. Think it means, "Not sure what it is, but it's something, boy."
Well, I'm givin' 'er, and tryin' to get 'er done. Front wheel sprocket is getting much worse, making some hills almost impossible to climb as the chain slips with every pedal stroke. I plan to stop short of St. John's tomorrow night. Hope to hit the beach on the morning of the 15th. If she holds together....
