Ship's Log - August 4, 2007

Pressed on up the island's Western coast with misty mountains to the right of me and the ocean to the left.

This island has taught me again the meaning of a mountain.

The climbs have been big, but gradual. The scenery is much to my taste. I remminds me of the rugged beauty of the Kootaney valley in BC. I had no idea there were mountains in Newfoundland. I'm in awe.

Met a nice fell on the highway, Melvin Hibbs, and he's invited me to set camp beside his cabin just off the highway after the pond. I'm there now ready to discover the Island's partying ways foe a Saturday night.

It can't get too crazy, can it?
