Check Point 1: Vancouver Island Ferry

Vancouver Island Ferry Terminal.

We read you, Mission Control...

This is Eco 1 reporting from the Vancouver Island Ferry (1pm departure).

After 6-7 chain de-gearings, one malfunctioning left turn signal switch and a non-functionind trailer strobe light, we're back on-line and resting during the ferry ride.

You should see the looks on people's faces, Skipper. The whole spectum - which makes me laugh. But, when not dumbstruck, there's always a smile in there somewhere. That feels good and makes the exhersion worthwhile.

The first girl in pigtails on a Victoria sidewalk turned around with big eyes behind glasses and said, "WOW!". The Rockies are sure to be hell, but first...a little bit of heaven.

The Vancouver entry will be a challenge with two bridges (the Alex Fraser and Knight Street bridge), freeways, rush hour, on-going mechanical adjustments....

The EcoRocket may have to be disassembled and reassembled to pass certain bridge signs and Other obstructions as well as portaged over some concrete barriers at entrance and exit. That's all part of it I guess.

That's all for now. Sorry if not all e-mails or blog comments responded to quickly.

Estimate Arriveal at Check Point 2 (UBC Firehall No. 10) by mid evening.

This is Eco 1 OUT.

Enjoy your well-earned rest on the ferry.

Scott Dawg,

Your work is the only thing I can count on these days.

If we hit warp 10 don't we go back in time and start all over again?

NOOOOOO!

Well, you could always hit warp 11 and go back to the era of horse drawn power!!!

And change history while you're at it. Give me bigger pecs, please...
